About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team at AMAN FURNITURE MFG AND SALE. As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for restoring and refinishing furniture to its original glory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Discuss fabric, colour and style options with customers to ensure their furniture meets their needs
  • Provide detailed cost estimates for upholstering furniture or other items
  • Replace worn-out webbing, springs and other furniture parts to ensure durability and quality
  • Lay out, cut, fabricate and install upholstery to exacting standards
  • Tack, glue or sew ornamental trim, braids or buttons to add a touch of elegance
  • Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces to restore their original beauty
  • Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to create intricate designs
  • Garnish the bottom and back of a seat with interwoven rattan for a unique touch
Requirements
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail to ensure high-quality work
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and create harmonious designs
  • Combination of sitting, standing and walking to complete tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment and maintain a clean workspace
Experience

We are looking for an individual with 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the furniture industry, preferably in a furniture upholstery and repair shop. You will be working in a permanent position, 32 hours per week, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
