Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Director of Pharmacy Operations to lead our pharmacy operations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northern Ontario. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the success of our pharmacies, ensuring a safe and effective pharmacy practice, and providing exceptional patient care.

The successful candidate will have a passion for the business, proven operational experience, and a desire to make a difference by leading colleagues to develop their skills, build accountability, get results, and provide a positive customer and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial/Business Growth:
    1. Oversee the financial performance of our pharmacies, including labor, inventory, and growth opportunities.
    2. Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and script growth, and maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape.
    3. Collaborate with the enterprise pharmacy team to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes.
  2. Culture & Colleagues:
    1. Lead by example, embodying our culture principles and values, and fostering a positive, performance-driven culture.
    2. Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
    3. Provide coaching and mentoring to Pharmacy Directors to develop their skills and leadership abilities.
  3. Enablement & Operational Excellence:
    1. Monitor and review sales projections, labor, and workflow, and identify opportunities for improvement.
    2. Collaborate with Directors to implement programs and initiatives, and ensure compliance with provincial pharmacy regulations.
    3. Lead and advise on the timely execution of pharmacy projects and initiatives.
  4. Cross Functional Collaboration & Leadership:
    1. Build and maintain strong relationships with District Managers and Vice Presidents of respective grocery banners.
    2. Collaborate with the enterprise pharmacy team to drive business results and improve pharmacy operations.
Qualifications:
  1. 10+ years of progressive, management-related experience in pharmacy operations.
  2. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  3. MBA preferred.
  4. Excellent business acumen and leadership skills.
  5. Strong understanding of retail pharmacy processes and the competitive landscape.
  6. Proven track record of leading ground-breaking change efforts and driving business results.
  7. Strong interpersonal and people leadership skills, with the ability to empower a team.
  8. Demonstrated skills in relationship building and influencing to achieve results.
  9. Strong leadership, collaboration, coaching, and mentoring skills required.
  10. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  11. Ideal candidate will reside in Winnipeg, MB, with regular travel required.
