Job Title: Employee and Family Assistance Counsellor

Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is seeking a skilled Employee and Family Assistance Counsellor to join our team. As a regulated health care professional, you will provide assessment, treatment, consultation, and referral services to employees and their immediate family members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive confidential Employee and Family Assistance Program consistent with the Board's Catholic mission and values.
  • Provide assessment, treatment, consultation, and referral services to employees and their immediate family members.
  • Design and conduct system training, respond to critical incidents, and provide input to senior administration regarding employee wellness initiatives and system training needs.
  • Work closely with the System Adult Faith Animator, the Respectful Workplace Advisor, the Systems Equity Officer, Disability Management, and the Workplace Development Coordinator.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or Pastoral Counselling with at least 7 years' relevant field experience.
  • Member in good standing of a Regulated Healthcare Professionals College.
  • Certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, or Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
  • Post-Masters' clinical expertise and ability to deal with a wide variety of issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in application of screening and assessment tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical services in an in-person or virtual environment.
  • Additional experience within a unionized environment in the Catholic education sector.
  • Maintains current and comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrates strong client service orientation and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to create and manage a high volume of professional clinical records.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and in a collaborative team setting.
  • Leadership experience and high level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Valid Driver's Licence and vehicle.

  • PASS Job Grade 10 - Professional Administrative Support Staff ($99,659 - $124,435.00)
