Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join their team in Bella Coola, BC. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the medical team by collecting and preparing blood and other specimens for analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and prepare blood and other specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Perform tests such as urine analysis and glucose monitoring, and operate related equipment.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program, and one year's recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to type at 25 wpm.
