Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as Chief Philanthropy Officer, Ontario Region. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our fundraising efforts in the province and make a significant impact on our mission to improve the lives of Canadians affected by ALS.

About Us

The ALS Society of Canada is a registered charity that receives no government funding. We rely on generous donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations to support our research, advocacy, and community services. Our goal is to create a world free of ALS, and we need talented professionals like you to help us achieve it.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic fundraising plans to meet or exceed annual revenue targets for the Ontario Region.
  • Build and maintain relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and foundation supporters to secure significant gifts and investments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to ensure effective communication, alignment, and integration of fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports to track progress and inform decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities in fundraising, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and growth.
Requirements
  • 6-8 years of experience in institutional fundraising, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts and leading fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of fundraisers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with donors, colleagues, and other external partners.
  • A deep understanding of the ALS disease, its impact, and our organization's mission and goals.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, marketing, or nonprofit management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate in Fundraising Management (CFRM) or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
  • Experience working in the nonprofit sector, particularly in health charities or organizations focused on ALS research and advocacy.
  • Fluency in French, with the ability to communicate effectively with donors and stakeholders in both English and French.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a retirement savings plan and paid time off.
