Job Summary

The Memorial University is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Clerk Stenographer to join our team in the University Bookstore. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and the general public
  • Process transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
  • Maintain accurate records, including data entry and record keeping
  • Assist with special orders, including quoting and processing
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in moderately difficult and varied clerical work
  • Completion of a one-year program from community college, including or supplemented by courses in business education or word processing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, faculty, staff, and students
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and retail operations

Working Conditions

This is a contractual position to March 31, 2026. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
