About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary Allied Health team at Providence Health Care. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with communication and/or swallowing problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct intervention for inpatients/outpatients/residents with communication and/or swallowing problems
  • Use appropriate assessment instruments to determine diagnosis and candidacy for therapy; develop an individualized therapy program
  • Maintain effective communication with all staff and work collaboratively with the team, patient, and family to identify treatment goals
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues within the department to ensure quality patient care
  • Provide education to patients, families, and/or staff about communication and swallowing deficits and suggest ongoing management strategies
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Professionals of British Columbia
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to provide supervision and teaching to students
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
