Job Title: Director, Lead AI Engineer, Office of Chief Investment Officer

Job Summary:

SLC Management is a leading global asset management firm providing innovative and diversified investment solutions to institutional investors. We are seeking a highly skilled Director, Lead AI Engineer to join our Office of the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) team. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions that drive business outcomes and enhance customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop generative AI solutions, including RAG pipelines, to enhance information retrieval and generation tasks.
  • Develop a deep understanding of large language models (LLMs) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and apply this knowledge to optimize model performance.
  • Test and evaluate various LLMs to identify the best fit for specific use cases.
  • Analyze and address issues related to model speed, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Document and present AI solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain robust solutions and pipelines, adhering to best practices and standards.
  • Provide technical leadership to junior team members and contribute to the growth and development of AI within SLC.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of professional hands-on development experience building data solutions using cloud native technologies.
  • 5+ years using Python, especially machine learning frameworks and libraries.
  • Proven experience building generative AI solutions, including RAG optimizations.
  • Strong understanding of prompting vs. training for large language models.
  • Experience in data engineering, such as data ingestion, processing, storage, and visualization.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to work in a team.
