Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Program Assistant to join their Adult Mental Health - Administration team in North Vancouver, BC.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the mental health team, including communication, information, and reception services.
- Answer telephone inquiries and direct callers to the appropriate person.
- Greet and check in clients, schedule appointments, and confirm client appointments.
- Utilize computer systems and software programs to perform administrative tasks.
- Word process various materials, including correspondence and progress reports.
- Enter client information into databases, score questionnaires, and transcribe administrative and clinical correspondence.
- Maintain client charts, sort and distribute mail, and engage in team planning and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Grade 12, completion of an office administration certificate, and two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Knowledge of general office procedures and medical terminology.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment, deal with clients living with mental illness and/or addiction, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and in conjunction with others, adapt to changes, and operate related equipment.
- Computer literacy to operate computerized client care information systems and software.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
