Capital Markets Risk Technology Specialist

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled professional to drive strategy and transform current market risk management platforms using new technologies and tools. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing effective solutions to resolve complex business problems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to transform market risk management platforms using new technologies and tools.
- Work with diverse technologies to implement new systems or enhancements of existing implementations, ensuring sound integration with surrounding components.
- Write well-designed testing suites for end-to-end testing of business flows.
- Incorporate modern technologies and practices to reduce operational cost and improve security, availability, and reliability of overall business systems.
- Effectively monitor performance and provide counsel and coaching to team members.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen business user and stakeholder relationships.
- Perform hands-on analysis and problem-solving as needed.
- 10+ years of relevant software development and IT industry work experience.
- Disciplined in development methodology and familiar with software development technologies and concepts.
- Strong programming skills in Python and Java, and experience with a wide spectrum of technologies including Airflow, Docker, Cloud development/deployment (Azure/Google).
- Practical expertise using agile delivery with deep understanding of core agile concepts, and continuous delivery and deployment methodologies.
- Knowledge of RiskWatch a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in Capital Markets and Risk Management would be an asset.
