Job Title: Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in the area of Sustainable Food Systems Pedagogy. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing courses in sustainable food systems, environmental research, and community-engaged learning.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach and develop courses in sustainable food systems, environmental research, and community-engaged learning
  • Develop and implement curriculum in sustainable food systems and environmental research
  • Supervise and mentor students in research projects and independent study
  • Contribute to the development of the School of the Environment's sustainability programs
Requirements:
  • PhD degree in Environmental Studies or a related field
  • Teaching experience in a degree-granting program at both undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Experience in community-engaged learning and experiential learning pedagogy
  • Strong research background in sustainable food systems and environmental research
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in grant writing for projects on pedagogy and community-engaged learning
  • Leadership roles in professional associations related to food and sustainability
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching and research
