Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and healthy kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation: Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Stock Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
- Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
- Equipment Maintenance: Sharpen kitchen knives and maintain equipment in good working condition.
- General Kitchen Duties: Assist with loading buspans and trays, operating dishwashers, and replenishing condiments and supplies.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs), and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Personal Qualities: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, team player, ability to multitask, initiative, dependability, and positive attitude.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a high level of physical activity and attention to detail.
