About the Role

Modern Technical Staffing Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products from concept to production, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Development: Lead and collaborate on product development projects, analyzing customer needs and creating detailed product specifications, 3D models, and technical drawings using CAD software.
  • Design Optimization: Optimize product design for mass production, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality standards.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Build, evaluate, and test prototypes to ensure they meet functional and performance objectives.
  • Injection Moulding Tooling: Design, review, modify, and maintain injection moulding tooling.
  • Project Management: Manage product development timelines and communicate project status to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in product design and development, with a focus on plastic/injection moulding.
  • Skills: Proficiency in parametric modelling (CAD) software, such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks or Inventor, and comfort with all aspects of injection moulding tooling, processes, and technology.
  • Additional Requirements: Experience with prototyping, testing, and manufacturing processes, proficient in product life cycle documentation, presentation, data tracking, and BOM maintenance, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
