About the Fitness Trainer Role

As a Fitness Trainer at Planet Fitness, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality fitness experience to our members. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Class Scheduling: Create a class schedule for members, including Orientation and DYOP (Develop Your Own Program), to ensure a diverse and engaging fitness experience.
  • Member Engagement: Proactively engage with members on the club floor, providing support and guidance on their fitness goals, and ensuring they feel welcome and motivated in our Judgement Free Zone.
  • Program Promotion: Help promote our Judgement Free Zone by connecting with members, offering assistance, and showing support in their fitness journeys, while upholding club policies.
  • Club Maintenance: Perform regular walks of all fitness areas to ensure a great member experience, addressing any issues promptly and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Membership Sales: Perform prospective member calls and tours, assessing their membership needs and offering Trainer services to provide a personalized experience.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Front Desk Support: Greet members and guests, assist with questions and concerns, and provide a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Phone Support: Answer phones in a friendly manner, assisting callers with their inquiries and providing a positive experience.
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Regularly clean and sanitize all exercise equipment, Black Card spa amenities, and communal spaces to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Restroom Maintenance: Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitized, stocked, and clutter-free, following the routine cleaning schedule.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 6-12 months of experience in a customer service environment
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Willingness to become CPR/AED Certified (Training provided by Planet Fitness)
  • Nationally Certified Training Certificate required
  • Basic computer proficiency
