Job Title: General Maintenance Worker

The University of Lethbridge is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Worker to join our Grounds Maintenance Department. This casual position will commence work as soon as possible and will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform snow clearing duties and hand shoveling
  • Operate light-duty vehicles and spread salt
  • Pick up and remove garbage and leaves/branches
  • Maintain and clean the shop

This position requires the ability to work evenings and weekends during the winter months and may be called in to assist with snow clearing activities outside of regular shifts. The successful candidate must have a high school diploma and a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's License, as well as the ability to handle strenuous activities for long durations.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's License
  • At least two years of experience with hand tools, power tools, and general repair knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public
