Job Summary
The University of Lethbridge is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join their team. As a key member of the Grounds Maintenance Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to grounds maintenance, including snow clearing, hand shoveling, and light-duty vehicle operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform snow clearing duties, including salting and sanding of walkways and parking lots
- Operate light-duty vehicles, including snow blowers and lawn mowers
- Assist with garbage pickup and removal, as well as leaf and branch pickup and chipping
- Perform shop maintenance and cleaning duties
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's License required
- Two years of experience working with hand tools, power tools, and general repair knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships with staff and the public
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to work evenings and weekends throughout the winter months, and may be called in to assist with snow clearing activities outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this position is $19.31, and the hours of work are typically 6-37.5 hours per week, with a mix of morning and evening shifts.
