Commercial Marketing Role Overview

At Brown & Brown Canada, we are seeking a skilled Commercial Marketing Specialist to join our Markham & Toronto team. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to support the growth of our business and make a meaningful impact in the insurance industry.

Job Description:

The Commercial Marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in preparing new business coverage analysis for client advisors to review and present to clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed new business coverage analysis reports for client advisors to review and present to clients.
  • Retrieving applications and underwriter information from client advisors for new business submission to the market.
  • Advising technical service assistants on invoicing and certificate issuance instructions.
  • Holding bi-monthly new business meetings with client advisors as needed to discuss outstanding information.
  • Creating and maintaining schedules of insurance coverage.

In addition to these key responsibilities, the Commercial Marketing Specialist will also be responsible for:

  • Following up with client advisors to ensure completion of the insurance coverage review checklist.
  • Obtaining new business submissions from client advisors and staying knowledgeable on coverage lines and markets that specialize in specific areas of coverage.
  • Presenting options to client advisors in the form of a coverage analysis to compare quotes and coverages.
  • Setting up commercial codes under prospects in the BMS system and electronically alerting client advisors of the prospect code.
  • Reserving the right to remove markets approached and add new markets to approach through a consultative process with client advisors.
  • Receiving quotes and declinations and attaching them to the BMS system for client advisor review on the marketing tracking report prepared by the Commercial Marketing Specialist.
  • Electronically transferring prospect codes to client codes for bound risks.
  • Attaching late quotes, late declinations, and additional correspondence to active client screens and providing insights regarding the risk to the CSA.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in commercial lines insurance.
  • RIBO (Registered Insurance Broker) license required.
  • Knowledge of Applied, Excel, Word, and Outlook programs preferred.
