Job Title: Certified Dental Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Dental Assistant to join our team at Nursing & Homemakers Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our dental team. This is a permanent position, working 8 to 12 hours per week, with a focus on delivering high-quality services in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and procedures
  • Supervise dental assistants in their health care functions and ensure they are working efficiently
  • Order dental and office supplies to maintain a well-stocked inventory
  • Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and confirming patient information
  • Prepare dental instruments and filling materials for procedures
  • Maintain and order supplies to ensure a clean and safe working environment
  • Perform reception and clerical duties, including answering phone calls and responding to patient inquiries
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment to prevent cross-contamination
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide guidance on maintaining good oral health
  • Supervise students in training and provide mentorship and support
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery
  • Take and develop X-rays to support diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Record dental procedures performed on patients and maintain accurate records
  • Invoice patients for dental services and manage payment processing
Requirements:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a dental setting
  • Healing Arts Radiation Protection (HARP) Certification
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and maintain a clean and organized workspace
