Job Title: Sessional Lecturer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Sessional Lecturer to teach a course in Macroeconomic Theory at the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will have a strong background in economics and experience in teaching at the undergraduate level.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a course in Macroeconomic Theory
  • Develop and deliver course content
  • Administer and mark assignments, tests, and exams
  • Calculate and submit grades
  • Hold regular office hours and maintain reasonable availability for student and administrative contact
  • Supervise T.A.s assigned to the course

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidacy in economics
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence and currency in and mastery of the subject area
  • Previous experience in teaching a similar course at the undergraduate level
  • Previous experience using pedagogical practices that promote active learning at the undergraduate level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Academic record of recent macroeconomic research

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work on campus and may be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
