Economist Lecturer

We are seeking a highly qualified Sessional Lecturer to teach a course in Macroeconomic Theory at the University of Toronto Scarborough.

The course, MGEC06H3 - Topics in Macroeconomic Theory, will be taught in the Winter 2025 academic session. The course will cover various topics in macroeconomic theory, including monetary policy, fiscal policy, and international trade.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering the course content, developing and administering assignments, tests, and exams, and calculating and submitting grades. The candidate will also be expected to hold regular office hours and maintain reasonable availability for student and administrative contact.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidacy in economics and demonstrated teaching excellence, currency in, and mastery of the subject area. Previous experience in teaching a similar course at the undergraduate level and using pedagogical practices that promote active learning are also highly desirable.

In addition to the minimum qualifications, the successful candidate will have an academic record of recent macroeconomic research and previous experience using pedagogical practices that promote active learning at the undergraduate level.
