Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team at Lakeland Ridge Childcare. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating special events, determining food portion sizes and costs, planning menus, and preparing complete meals or individual dishes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Co-ordinate special events, including menu planning and food preparation.
  • Determine the size of food portions and costs, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
  • Plan menus that meet the dietary needs of our children and staff, taking into account any allergies or restrictions.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes, adhering to high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed, managing inventory and records.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

Working Conditions:

This is a physically demanding role, requiring long periods of standing, walking, and lifting. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with regular exposure to noise, heat, and other physical demands.
