About the Role



Collins Aerospace, a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry, is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Connected Aviation Solutions team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day priorities in solving clients VHF/UHF Radio, Telephone, Networking & PC hardware related issues.



Key Responsibilities




  • Coordinate, prioritize, and resolve issues encountered by customers.
  • Analyze system failures, identify, and restore equipment malfunctions and failures.
  • Perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to, servicing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and removing equipment.
  • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications.
  • Manage technical products, services, logistics, and provisioning, quantity surveying, and configurations to assigned customers.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and recommend actions to company or customer representatives.
  • Assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Install and maintain digital wireless communication equipment in the VHF, UHF, 800 MHz bands operating on trunking or conventional modes.
  • Install and maintain dispatch console systems.
  • Manage statements of work to meet customer and contract requirements.
  • Contact customers, collect feedback, and establish and maintain good relationships with customers.
  • Communicate and interact, both verbally and written, with English-speaking customers.
  • Travel 30%.
  • Valid Canadian citizenship, a valid driver's license, and a vehicle are required.
  • Monday to Friday workdays with rotational on-call.
  • Applicants will be subject to a government security screening.


Requirements




  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post-high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with RF testing equipment and troubleshooting skills.


Preferred Qualifications




  • Experience working in the RF field.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work effectively both in a team environment and under minimal supervision in the field.
  • Completion of a practical course in the RF Radio & Electronics.
  • Completion of a practical course in CompTIA A+ or equivalent.
