We are seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to join our team as we strive to maintain clear and timely communication with the public, media, and stakeholders about wildfire prevention and response.

This role involves managing media inquiries, developing communication tools, supervising Communications Assistants, and collaborating with partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage media inquiries and develop key messages for public release
  • Develop and implement communications plans for wildfire prevention and response
  • Serve as liaison between the Fire Centre and external partners
  • Supervise Communications Assistants and provide guidance on communication strategies

Requirements:

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism
  • 1 year of experience in a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
