Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Advisor - Accounting Expert to join our Assurance & Accounting team. As a trusted advisor, you will provide comprehensive, tailored financial information that enables clients to make informed decisions with confidence.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements
  • Setting up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; managing multiple files simultaneously and conducting inventory counts
  • Performing accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition and disposition and payroll walk-through with clients
  • Summarizing clients' current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other relevant reports
  • Assessing and assuring appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable, accounts receivable and prepaid expenses
  • Reviewing, investigating and correcting discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports
  • Establishing charts of accounts and preparing entries for posting to accounts
  • Preparing correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights
  • Developing effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • Participating in business development initiatives and identifying new business opportunities

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A CPA designation
  • 2-4 years of relevant public accounting experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software
  • Understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
