About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Picton, ON. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and supervise maintenance crews to ensure timely completion of tasks and meet production requirements.
  • Oversee the work performed by maintenance personnel and outside contractors to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Determine training needs for employees and ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with plant rules, policies, and health and safety protocols during maintenance procedures.
  • Manage urgent or breakdown jobs to minimize downtime and maintain production levels.
  • Develop and motivate direct reports to create a reliable and competent workforce.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to develop work schedules, equipment usage schedules, and procedures to meet overall plant goals.
  • Prepare material and labor estimates to develop project cost estimates and plant budgets.
  • Monitor the acquisition and use of materials to meet productivity and budgetary goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of time, work orders, materials, equipment, and other mechanical shop activities.
Requirements
  • 5 years of mechanical repair and maintenance experience, preferably in a heavy industry setting.
  • Prior supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others with or without direct authority.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other similar systems is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
