Job Description:

In this role as a Data Governance Specialist, you will be working closely with the team to create a Proof of Concept (POC) that aligns with our metadata strategy. Your primary responsibility will be to establish a cataloging and business glossary system, tagging, and metadata necessary to meet our standards by working with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review applied classifications to data elements within Purview Data Catalog
  • Apply sensitivity labels to data elements or assets to adhere to our Data Policy, Information classification, and handling standard, and Privacy guidelines
  • Align data elements to our Information Model for personal information
  • Expand the business glossary in publication tagging
  • Sensitivity levels applicable to Privacy guidelines
  • Data classification according to Information
  • Data elements criticality
  • Metadata analysis, including technical, business, and operational metadata
Requirements:
  • Understanding of data governance principles
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to handle ambiguous information
  • Analyzing and problem-solving skills
  • Metadata analysis and tagging expertise
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products, such as Excel, Purview, and Databricks with minimal SQL coding
  • Experience with Collibra or other data governance toolsets
  • Ability to communicate technical details to business users
  • Metric monitoring and testing functionalities and environments
Salary:

We are offering a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience.

Location:

This position is located in London, Ontario, and requires occasional on-site work at our client's location.
