We are seeking an experienced Senior Care Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our long-term care facility, ensuring that our residents receive high-quality care and services.



About the Role


  • Lead a team of clinical staff, including RNs, RPNs, and PSWs, in providing resident care and ensuring a safe environment
  • Assess, plan, and make decisions to resolve clinical and team issues
  • Support consultation with internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of services to residents, striving for excellence in service delivery
  • Coordinate, direct, and monitor the effectiveness of operational activities within your assigned portfolio, adhering to relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in recruitment, orientation, employee relations, performance management, training, and education
  • Oversee clinical care processes to ensure care delivery aligns with resident individualized plans and reflects best practices
  • Promote and ensure standards of practice are achieved and evaluated
  • Ensure adherence to required programs and lead a required clinical program, such as Falls Prevention or Pain Management
  • Contribute to job routine development for nursing personnel to ensure excellence in care provision and workplace satisfaction
  • Respond promptly to concerns from residents, family members, team members, and others to mediate a satisfactory response
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required
  • Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Membership with the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario required
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS) – Level C required
  • Minimum three years related nursing experience required
  • Two years supervisory experience in a long-term care setting required, including labour and employee relations experience
  • Excellent organizational, communication, planning, and time management skills required
  • Masters' degree in Health Discipline preferred
  • Certificate in Gerontological nursing preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Software, Point Click Care (PCC), MDS, RMR, and budgeting software preferred
  • Previous ADOC or DOC experience an asset
  • Experience in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation an asset
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, decision-making, and problem-resolution skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in coaching and building capacity with individuals and teams
  • Demonstrated expertise in responsive behavior management, PIECES, or equivalent; crisis intervention, and Dementia care an asset
