Job Overview

University Health Network (UHN) is seeking an exceptional Environmental Services Leadership Specialist to join our Support Services Team.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $75,000 - $90,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Job Description

This key leadership position plays a vital role in coaching, mentoring, training, providing direction, and ensuring quality of services within the Environmental Services Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing administrative tasks to ensure efficient operation of the service
  • Maintaining quality standards through audits and feedback to staff
  • Fostering a collaborative working environment using innovative ideas and concepts to provide leadership in effecting change and improving service quality
  • Planning and executing projects
  • Supervising and developing human resources, including assigning duties and responsibilities
  • Managing financial aspects
  • Ensuring equipment is in good repair and performing cross-functional duties as assigned or requested
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • A minimum of a 3-year community college program in Healthcare Environmental Services Management or equivalent qualification
  • Five years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, linen, or transportation
  • Experience with Quality Improvement programs
  • Conflict resolution and project management skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, technical knowledge of housekeeping, linen, laundry, and transport equipment, and environmental cleaning standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
