About the Role

The Woodfibre LNG Project is a significant undertaking that requires a skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to support its development and operation. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the project's compliance with regulatory requirements and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Provide expert advice on regulatory matters at the federal, provincial, municipal, and First Nations levels to ensure the project's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate, draft, review, process, and manage a variety of agreements, including procurement contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and purchase and sale agreements.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the project's compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements, including local and Indigenous procurement.
  • Business Development: Support business development initiatives, including the negotiation of commercial agreements and the management of risk.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 7+ years' experience in commercial and natural resource-related law in British Columbia or Alberta.
  • Qualifications: Canadian law degree and current membership (or willingness to obtain membership) in the law society of British Columbia or Alberta.
