Diamond Schmitt Architects and EXP Engineering and Architectural Services are collaborating on the redesign and construction of the Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre (ASEC).

ASEC is a federal building that was built in the 1950s and serves the Atlantic region with labs and science facilities.

The project aims to create a world-class facility for research and education, focusing on understanding, protecting, and sustaining Atlantic freshwater and coastal saltwater aquatic ecosystems.

The design team is seeking intensive collaboration with Indigenous communities, employees, and partners in the region.

This opportunity is ideal for students with a passion for architecture and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in design activities and administrative functions
  • Build relationships with multiple teams and Indigenous communities
  • Help present the project to various audiences and attend networking events
  • Assist with graphic design and social media
  • Organize and communicate with Indigenous partners and stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Interest in architecture, engineering, and community engagement
  • Technical background in architecture, engineering, or construction (asset)
  • High school diploma (preferred)
  • Pursuing or intending to pursue post-secondary or technical program
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software applications
