Job Title: Occupational Therapist

St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) in Brantford. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and crisis intervention/support services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, as well as complex physical health issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions to promote client participation in activities of daily living and improve overall well-being
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions
  • Develop and implement group treatment/rehabilitation plans to promote client engagement and empowerment
  • Provide clinical supervision and direction to assigned support staff and students
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master's Degree preferred
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and current professional association registration (OSOT, CAOT) or eligible for membership
  • Minimum of 2-5 years experience providing OT interventions in an outpatient mental health setting
  • Registered/certified as an authorizer with Assistive Devices Program or willing to obtain
  • Excellent assessment, crisis intervention, critical thinking/problem-solving skills, and sound clinical judgment
  • Organizational skills to identify needs and establish priorities among competing demands
