About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Printing Press Operator to join our team at Specialized Marking Systems Ltd. as a Flexographic Press Operator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mounting and Adjusting: Mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal print quality.
  • Production Planning: Prepare production schedules and plan production methods to meet customer demands.
  • Ink Management: Fill ink fountains and control colour and viscosity to achieve desired print results.
  • Cost Estimation: Estimate costs and plan resources to ensure efficient production.
  • Press Setup and Operation: Set up and operate the flexographic press at slow speed to check samples and ensure quality.
  • Training and Development: Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on press operation and maintenance.
  • Quality Control: Monitor regular press run for quality using computer control console and make adjustments as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Remove and clean plates and cylinders at end of press run and set up and adjust in-line binding and finishing equipment.
  • Team Leadership: Direct press crew to set up, operate, and shut down the press.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
