  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleanliness of reception areas, pet holding areas, and common spaces
  • Exhibit compassion and a nurturing attitude
  • Remain calm in stressful situations and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Work efficiently to complete assignments independently
  • Take initiative to complete tasks throughout the day
  • Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) program certificate is an asset
Key Responsibilities and Attributes
  • 3+ years of customer service and client care experience
  • Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
  • Place outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
  • Respond and manage email correspondence with clients, referring veterinarians, and internal office messages
  • Admit and discharge pet patients
  • Invoice and bill clients, including creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation, and processing payments
  • Schedule appointments
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills and a real aptitude for putting people at ease
  • Display strong organizational skills
  • Be willing to learn more about veterinary services, updated medical office procedures, and assisting veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
  • Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality or retail is an asset
