About the Job:

The Home Delivery Driver will be responsible for operating a cube van to deliver and receive product in excellent condition as per our corporate policies and delivery best practices. This position involves loading and unloading product from vehicles, conducting product transfers and deliveries between Sheridan locations across the GTA, and obeying all MTO requirements.

Your Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for operating a cube van while delivering and receiving product in excellent condition as per our corporate policies and delivery best practices.
  • Loading and unloading product from vehicles.
  • Conducting product transfers and deliveries between Sheridan locations across the GTA.
  • Obeying all MTO requirements and keeping organized documentation of all trucking and delivery related information.
  • Work in conjunction with Store Management and the Joint Health & Safety Committee to ensure a safe work environment for all through adhering to safe driving and health and safety best practices, hazard reporting, and leading by example.
  • Actively seek to increase knowledge base of Sheridan Nurseries products and services.
  • Other duties around the Garden Centre as assigned by Management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold a G class license with a clean driving abstract.
  • Experience driving a truck or cube van in a variety of different road and weather conditions.
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks and situations with effective time management skills.
  • You are punctual and dependable, and highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Prior experience working in customer-facing roles.
  • Forklift experience an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • This position is required to work weekdays, as well as occasional weekends and evenings as scheduled.
