Drafting Technician

We are seeking a skilled Drafting Technician to join our team at Maple Contractors Ltd. in a design role.
Job Description:The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing engineering designs and drawings, reading blueprints to determine work requirements, and developing and preparing design sketches. They will also prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates, as well as prepare contracts and tenders. Additionally, they will write technical reports, specifications, and estimate costs and materials. The candidate will also examine drawings for conformity and errors, consult with clients, engineers, or production specialists to establish product requirements, and lead/instruct groups. They will create pattern size variations from master patterns using computer or drafting instruments.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods. They will also have excellent oral and written communication skills, be organized, and have the ability to distinguish between colors.
