PCL Construction is a leading player in the industry, and we're seeking a skilled Industrial Project Coordinator to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. As a key member of our Industrial Management office, you'll play a vital role in driving project success and contributing to the growth of our Canadian Industrial sector.
About the Role
Responsibilities- Perform quantity takeoffs and surveys to ensure contract progress and reporting accuracy.
- Maintain relationships with select subcontractors, overseeing work scope, answering inquiries, and supervising progress.
- Manage the change order process, including pricing, negotiation, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
- Assist the project manager in crafting and issuing tender packages and subcontracts, and supervise their progress.
- Ensure project document control and procedures are maintained, including RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals.
- Collaborate with the project manager and superintendent to manage and report project performance, focusing on HSE, cost management, schedule, and quality.
- Prepare and track progress claims and estimates.
- Coordinate inventory and tracking of materials and equipment, expediting material orders as needed.
- Prepare work packages for self-perform work and maintain self-perform schedules and costing systems.
- Construction trade certification or equivalent experience, with a post-secondary diploma or degree in construction management or engineering preferred.
- 6-8 years of construction experience in an operational role, with mechanical experience required.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with multiple supervisors and sub-trades.
- Intermediate knowledge of construction specifications, methods, and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software and ability to adopt new technology systems.
- Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Successful applicants must be willing to take and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test, with travel and mobility required.
