We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team at Canadian Hawak Transport Ltd. As a vital member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across the country.

About the Job

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in haulage operations, with experience in driving large vehicles and handling cargo. You will be required to work independently, making decisions about route planning and time management.

Responsibilities
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy: Ensure safe transportation of goods and materials, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Load and unload goods: Effectively manage cargo, ensuring it is properly secured and handled.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks: Safely navigate through various road conditions, using your expertise to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce wear on vehicles.
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Pay and receive payments for goods: Handle financial transactions related to cargo, following established procedures.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs: Respond quickly to unexpected issues, making necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection: Conduct thorough checks on vehicles before, during, and after each trip, identifying potential issues early.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption: Accurately track and document essential data, providing valuable insights for future improvement.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A): Possess a valid driver's license for operating large vehicles.
