Aquatic Operations Assistant

Job Summary:
The City of Terrace is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support the supervision of activities within the Aquatic Centre. As an Aquatic Centre Support Staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of aquatic programs and providing exceptional customer service to the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and assist Lifeguards in the supervision of public use of the Aquatic Centre and related facilities;
- Assist with the instruction of swim lessons and aquatic programs;
- Provide exceptional customer service to the public, responding to enquiries, questions, and complaints in a courteous and efficient manner;
- Assist with the maintenance of a safe and clean Aquatic Centre environment;
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- 15 years of age or older;
- Bronze Cross Certificate;
- Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor;
- Standard First Aid with CPR-c or equivalent First Aid course;
- Ability to work independently and to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with other departmental staff, general public, and other Parks, Recreation, and Culture personnel;
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the public and staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time position that may require shift work, including evenings and weekends. A criminal record check will be required prior to the position being awarded.
