About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef Supervisor to join our team at Compass Group Canada. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of food preparation staff, ensuring that high-quality standards are met in every meal served.

Responsibilities
  • Establish efficient methods to meet work schedules and ensure seamless food service delivery
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Supervise and train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork
  • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Hire and manage food service staff, promoting diversity and inclusivity in the workplace
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates, analyzing data to inform decision-making and optimize resource allocation
  • Address customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and empathy, maintaining a positive reputation for our organization
  • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for business growth and improvement
  • Prepare and submit reports on various aspects of kitchen operations, including food order summaries and quality control metrics
Requirements
  • Cooking experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field (an asset)
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with ability to motivate and train staff
  • Demonstrated expertise in menu planning, food presentation, and culinary techniques
  • Awareness of food safety protocols and ability to maintain high standards in kitchen practices
  • Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment and appliances
Working Conditions

This is a fast-paced environment requiring strong multitasking abilities, with regular deadlines to meet. The ideal candidate must be comfortable standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 kg, and performing physical tasks in a dynamic kitchen setting.
