Apprentice Carpenter

Traine Construction and Development is seeking a skilled Carpenter Apprentice to join our team in Colwood, BC. As a key member of our team, you will report directly to the Site Superintendent to learn a wide range of construction skills and assist in various tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks involving basic Carpentry and construction knowledge, as well as physical labor at construction projects.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
  • Provide assistance to craft workers such as carpenters, plasterers, and masons.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a construction laborer may be required.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR preferred.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner if certified.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various construction processes.
  • Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Use of radio.
