AltaGas is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading technical initiatives through the development phases of projects, reporting up to a development/opportunity lead.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead technical initiatives through the development phases of projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  2. Coordinate and complete technical feasibility studies to define project scope, evaluate alternatives, and de-risk projects.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Facilities Engineering, Strategy & Innovation, and Commercial Development.
  4. Provide engineering expertise, review designs, and develop process simulations, heat and material balances, and process flow diagrams.
  5. Analyze technologies and solutions to enhance AltaGas' core midstream assets, using strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  6. Monitor opportunities for government grants and funding for emission reduction programs or projects.
  7. Develop or identify opportunities for process optimization, energy efficiency, and cost reduction, and implement solutions.
Requirements:
  1. 5-10 years of front-end project development experience.
  2. Engineering degree (Chemical discipline preferred).
  3. Current registration in good standing with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
  4. Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to present findings to senior management and broad audiences.
  5. Exhibits innovation and critical thinking when developing and evaluating alternate solutions or assessing new technologies.
  6. Ability to foresee potential issues or problems through strong planning and organizing skills.
  7. Experience with energy transition/decarbonization technologies an asset.
  8. Midstream/facilities experience an asset.
