Job Summary

The Housekeeping Support Worker is a vital member of the Environmental Services team at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH). This role is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The successful candidate will be familiar with all aspects of Environmental Services duties, procedures, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional cleaning and waste management services to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment and machinery.
  • Participate in infection control initiatives and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of hospital janitorial experience preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates with floor refinishing and carpet shampooing experience.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping.
