Job Summary:

The Piping Engineering Team Lead at Equinox Engineering Ltd plans and directs all aspects of Piping Engineering activities within the department. This role ensures all Piping Engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established objectives. The Piping Engineering Team Lead oversees the Piping Engineering team across global offices, including Canada, Australia, USA, and India.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee a team of piping, stress, pipeline, and materials engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of Piping Engineering deliverables, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor engineers and supporting staff, promoting a culture of professional growth and development.
  • Develop and implement engineering hour estimates, resource loading, and forecasting, ensuring effective project planning and execution.
  • Liaise with Piping, Mechanical, Supply Chain, and Project Management teams to ensure seamless project execution and compliance with corporate requirements.
  • Assist in leading and executing project deliverables, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor Piping Engineering procedures and standards, ensuring consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Coordinate staff performance reviews and training, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Broad exposure to natural gas, conventional oil, and heavy oil facility design and construction, with knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Education and Qualifications:

  • A Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation within the province of Alberta.
  • A Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • A minimum of 15+ years of oil and gas experience, with a background in EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management).
