Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Piping Engineering Team Lead to oversee all aspects of Piping Engineering activities within our department. The successful candidate will ensure that all Piping Engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are aligned with our organization's objectives and are executed in a manner that meets our high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of piping, stress, pipeline, and materials engineers to deliver high-quality results.
  2. Develop and implement effective processes and procedures to ensure the quality and accuracy of Piping Engineering deliverables.
  3. Recruit, train, and mentor engineers and supporting staff to ensure the team's success.
  4. Generate accurate engineering hour estimates, resource loading, and forecasting to support project planning.
  5. Ensure effective use of global workshare to meet corporate requirements and optimize project delivery.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Piping, Mechanical, Supply Chain, and Project Management, to achieve project goals.
  7. Develop, maintain, and monitor Piping Engineering procedures and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  8. Review and manage client requirements and expectations to ensure successful project delivery.
  9. Develop and implement project specifications to meet client needs.
  10. Assist upper management in short-term planning and business strategies to drive organizational growth.
  11. Coordinate staff performance reviews and training to ensure team development and success.
  12. Demonstrate commitment to our Health and Safety program and ensure a safe working environment.
  13. Assist with business development and client relationships to drive revenue growth.
  14. Nurture industry networking and contacts to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Requirements:

  1. Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and manage the team.
  2. Leadership, mentorship, and supervisory skills to develop and motivate team members.
  3. Experience in managing multi-discipline teams, including global workshare, to deliver complex projects.
  4. Ability to effectively resolve interdisciplinary issues or concerns that arise within a team environment.
  5. Broad exposure to natural gas, conventional oil, and heavy oil facility design and construction to ensure technical expertise.
  6. Familiarity with ABSA, regulatory, and code requirements, including CSA, ASME, and API, to ensure compliance.
  7. Piping Engineering and Stress Analysis Knowledge to deliver high-quality results.
  8. Knowledge of Materials and Supply Chain to ensure effective project delivery.
  9. Knowledge of Pipeline Engineering and Welding to ensure technical expertise.

Education and Qualifications: A Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) within the province of Alberta and a Mechanical Engineering degree are required. A minimum of 15+ years' oil and gas experience, with an EPCM background, is necessary to succeed in this role.
