Water Quality and Aquatic Health Expert Wanted

We are seeking a seasoned environmental leader to spearhead water quality initiatives in Western Canada, working closely with clients across various sectors.

This role is part of our esteemed Environmental Management team in BC and Yukon, consisting of over 20 professionals specializing in toxicology, risk assessment, and environmental monitoring and assessment.

  • You will design and implement comprehensive water quality, sediment quality, and aquatic effects monitoring programs for multiple sectors in BC, as well as resource development projects throughout Western Canada and the North.
  • As a project lead, you will oversee teams responsible for data collection, assessment, and reporting on program effectiveness.
  • You will provide strategic guidance to project teams throughout the entire life cycle of a project, demonstrating a proven track record of successful delivery of complex water quality and environmental effects monitoring projects.

We require an individual with a strong focus on quality assurance/quality control and excellent communication skills to effectively convey scientific findings to non-scientific audiences.

You will collaborate closely with clients to support their regulatory and engagement efforts with Indigenous Groups, stakeholders, and the public.

You will prepare technical reports for submission to provincial and federal regulatory authorities.

You will work collaboratively with other disciplines as necessary to complete deliverables.

Possessing strong project management, coordination, and planning skills, you will be responsible for meeting client timelines and budget expectations.

Key Requirements
  • A university education in environmental science, toxicology, or biological sciences, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred, but a Bachelor's degree with significant work experience is considered equivalent to a graduate degree.
  • Professional Registration as a Registered Professional Biologist (College of Applied Biology of British Columbia) or eligibility for registration.
  • No less than 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Able to provide leadership to teams of scientists over the entire project life cycles and demonstrate a track record of success in the technical delivery of water quality and environmental effects monitoring projects.

Compensation: We offer a competitive salary range of $122,500 to $168,500 in British Columbia.
