As a key member of our Early Years Programs, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality early learning services to children and families in the Toronto Indigenous Community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging early learning programs for children aged 0-12, incorporating the ELECT framework and Indigenous perspectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a seamless and supportive learning environment.
  • Deliver literacy and interactive learning activities to support children's transition to school.
  • Plan and implement stimulating activities for infant, toddler, preschool, kindergarten, and school-age children, including field trips and special events.
  • Promote the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being of children in all activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of children's development and interactions, adhering to Ministry standards and NCFST policies.
  • Support children with diverse abilities in their daily routines, play, and interactions.
  • Provide staffing coverage to ensure quality care and maintain effective communication with parents/caregivers.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and good standing with the college of ECEs.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and willingness to obtain a new one upon hire.
  • Up-to-date immunizations and current Infant/Child CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate.
  • Knowledge of Early Learning Framework, provincial and municipal policies, and the unique dynamics of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis cultures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to integrating NCFST's Mission and values into practice, service, and relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, maintaining effective communication and working relationships.
