About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled 3D Technical Animator to join our Bitmoji team at Snap Inc. As a key member of our animation team, you will be responsible for creating engaging and interactive 3D characters and props for our platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animation of 3D characters and props in Autodesk Maya, adhering to time limits and project requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve animation-related issues and optimize production processes.
  • Collaborate with concept artists, storyboard artists, modelers, VFX artists, prototypers, and engineers to ensure seamless asset development.
  • Rig a wide range of props and character rigs using Autodesk Maya.
  • Paint skin weights for deformation and ensure assets meet technical needs.
  • Help troubleshoot and QA animation and technical issues for assets to move through the pipeline.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in 3D Animation, Classical Animation, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in character animation and rigging.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Maya.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in Python scripting.
  • Experience creating or building rigging and animation tools.
  • Experience in motion capture and motion capture cleanup.
  • Experience making comics and/or short-form animated content.
  • Experience with Lens Studio.
