Heavy Equipment Technician Lead

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Bruce Mines, Thessalon, and Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy construction and maintenance equipment, including plow and sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, following manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures. They will also engage in Ledcor safety policies and procedures, complete maintenance records and documentation as required.
As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will work independently and as part of a team to ensure the safe operation of equipment. You will be able to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues, and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including but not limited to: plow and sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear
- Follow manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures
- Engage in Ledcor safety policies and procedures
- Complete maintenance records and documentation as required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician ticket from a recognized provincial authority
- Previous experience working with heavy civil construction and/or highway paving and highway maintenance equipment (i.e. snowplows)
- Licensed MVI mechanic an asset
- A valid Driver's License and ability to provide a 3-year driver's abstract
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions which may be accompanied by sketches and diagrams
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
