Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at the Simcoe County District School Board. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide instruction and support in a variety of settings, including classrooms, resource rooms, and community-based settings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to student success
Requirements:
  • Valid Ontario teaching certification
  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
