As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality preanalytical services to clinical, laboratory, and research professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Perform venipuncture, ECG, and Holter Monitor Hook-up on inpatients with precision and care.
- Organize and arrange the transport of specimens with attention to detail and efficiency.
- Practice and provide patient-centered care with empathy and compassion.
- Utilize hospital information systems to access and document procedures accurately.
- Participate in the training of staff to ensure seamless knowledge transfer.
- Maintain adequate supply stocks to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to safe working environment protocols and comply with IPAC guidelines.
- Completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
- Graduate of a post-secondary Laboratory Technician or Laboratory Assistant certificate program or recognized equivalent.
- OSMT or CSMLS license preferred.
- Minimum one year of related work experience in a laboratory setting.
- Minimum one year of recent work experience in venipuncture, ECG, and specimen management.
- Effective organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of appropriate behavior required working successfully in a diverse work group.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Procedures in a laboratory.
- Computer literate in Windows-based applications.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions.
